Graduate Admission

Kent offers a variety of courses within three areas of study in the JMC graduate program. Our programs are:

Requirements Checklist for Admission

• Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
• Have a composite GRE score of at least 1000
• Submit a completed online Kent State University Graduate Application form. Forms are located on the Research and Graduate Studies web site.
• Write a statement of purpose explaining why you are interested in graduate studies at Kent JMC and submit it online at the site above.
• Send original copies of all college transcripts to the Division of Research and Graduate Studies.
• Submit online recommendations from three people, at least one who is a professor and who was your instructor.
• Have a TOEFL score of 600 or more for international students.

Summer Semester: May 1

To be considered for assistantships, applications must be submitted before March 1 of each academic year.

You may apply for Graduate Admission through the University Online Graduate Application.  You may also apply for graduate admission as a Guest Degree Applicant by submitting a Guest Application.
