Student media Spring update: lots of changes, $$$ concerns

Morning web site vodcasts from the student media newsroom. A revitalized "Date 'em or Hate 'em" show on TV2. More news on Black Squirrel Radio. Even budget cuts. They're all part of changes this semester in Kent JMC student media. Read about them below. Many have multimedia with them.

The radio station is flexing its news muscles. It's adding a news talk show and taking advantage of a JMC class in radio news reporting to add more staff and newscasts to its schedule. MORE

The television station has dropped its 6:30 p.m. newscast, added a morning vodcast in partnership with KentNewsNet.com, and started two new entertainment programs. MORE

The 18-month-old website is becoming more interactive thanks to contributions from other student media. It's added the a.m. vodcast, is looking for more ad revenue, and is getting lots of photos of folks' pets. And, it has gained its independence. MORE
