Your Finance Is Less Stressful At Kent State University

Students at Kent State University can sleep easier at night knowing that the smaller amount of money they’re paying is going a long way. Kent State University has frozen the cost of tuition for the past three years, according to Sandra Montgomery, Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid.
Montgomery believes that Kent State is more affordable than most colleges, and that the students get more for their money. About 80 percent of the students get financial aid, she said.

Her advice for students is to work hard, and save as much as they can. Frank Yonkof, a sophomore in college, is someone who is doing just that.
Yonkof has applied for financial aid, and had a job last semester to pay it off, and, if he has to, next semester he’ll get a student loan. He received scholarships last semester, including a trustee scholarship.
Cassie Winer, a sophomore at Kent, is also heading in the same direction as Yonkof. She also has financial aid along with some grants. “I’m hoping to get a good job,” she said, and is going to start paying it off about six months after graduation.
