  • •JMC scholarship applications due Feb. 12 •

    We normally award more than 50 scholarships. A new scholarship just announced is from the Portage Community Bank. Students must have graduated from a Portage County high school and be involved in student media at Kent State. All scholarship winners will be announced in late March.

  • PRSSA wins another major award

    JMC's PRSSA chapter has won another national Teahan Award, this one in the University/College Service category. The award recognizes voluntary projects developed by a PRSSA chapter that directly benefit the chapter's home university.

  • DKS, KentNewsNet win national Pacemakers

    JMC student media have won prestigious Pacemaker awards from the Associated Collegiate Press. Both the Daily Kent Stater and KentNewsNet.com (now KentWired.com) earned awards, making Kent State the only major journalism program to win Pacemakers in both the daily newspaper and online news site categories. Franklin Hall

Franklin Hall Picture

In 1926, Franklin Hall opened as a modern teacher education building. Eighty-plus years later, it has had a complete overhaul and a new wing added to it. It's now the state-of-the-art home of Kent JMC with cutting edge facilities, including a converged student media newsroom, a high definition broadcast studio and control room, modern video and audio editing suites, and much more.
